SHW & Nightwatch Croydon Celebrate two successful years of fundraising

CSR

SHW’s Matt Morris met with Nightwatch Croydon this week to celebrate the last two years of fundraising activities.

Presenting the team with a cheque for £5,300, following fundraising from a series of CSR days and social activities in 2025, Matt reflected on the success of the last two years – in which a total of £10,300 was raised for Nightwatch. “In 2025, the SHW team again embarked on a range of CSR days and socials events to raise much needed funds for our chosen charity Nightwatch. We are truly honoured to be able to play our small part in helping the charity with the fantastic work they continue to do.”

2025 social and sporting events included yoga, Padel & Pickle Ball, the usual volleyball, football and cricket.

Nightwatch was founded in 1976 when a group of local people came together concerned after the death of a homeless man in Croydon. The group has since built facilities and hostels, with a strong volunteer base, and has expanded its street level work to confront the homeless crisis in the area.

Nightwatch currently have a core group of volunteers who meet every night in Queens Gardens Croydon to assist people in need by providing urgent and necessary items of food, clothes, toiletries and household goods. They are considered as the first-line agency in offering help to the newly homeless but also provide help to those going through various stages of homelessness, encouraging and assisting in their resettlement back into the community.
