SHW - 5 Montagu Square: Heritage Repairs and Refurbishment

SHW recently completed internal and external repairs, maintenance and redecoration, along with substantial roof repairs at 5 Montagu Square, London W1H 2LA for Portman Estates.
The project, valued at £140,000, was finished on schedule and 5% under budget. The Grade II listed building in the Portman Estate Conservation Area required consideration due to its occupied status throughout the works and leaseholders specifying individual finishes. The project involved coordinating these requirements while retaining the building's historic character and limiting disruption to residents.
SHW collaborated with each leaseholder to provide the specified finishes, adjusting schedules as needed for the occupied premises. All external repairs were carried out in accordance with conservation area regulations.
The project was delivered on time and under budget, meeting all bespoke requirements, improving the building's structure and performance, and preserving its historic features.
