SHW Health & Wellness Week 2021

SHW News

We are excited to announce that we are holding an 'SHW Health & Wellness Week' from 1st -5th November 2021. All Partners agree that after an extremely difficult year in 2020 and a busy work year in 2021 with Covid-19 restrictions still impacting our daily lives, we need to re-balance and re-energise. The aim is to help us all find ways to reduce stress, anxiety and take time to relax even though we may often feel busy, stressed & under pressure. We have chosen to our host the events from 1st -5th November as national 'Stress Awareness Day' falls on Wednesday 3rd November 2021.

Our Mental Health First Aiders Jenni Styan, Rachel Finn, Lucy Johnstone, Michele Gallagher and Nikki Harper have all contributed their ideas for activities to help us promote good mental and physical well-being.

We have a range of activities taking place:

  • A weekly step challenge - record the most steps from Monday to Friday to win a prize
  • Take time out of the workday to attend a LionHeart webinar - topics include 'Creating a Positive Mindset', Understanding Stress Management' & Boasting your Resilience'
  • HIIT Session - be prepared to sweat out any stress with our high intensity training session with Impact45
  • Healthier eating - watch videos of our Partners and Employees cooking healthy meals and snacks and cook along at home with them.
  • Live stretch & breathing session with Impact45 to help reduce stress and anxiety
  • Office lunch - attend our Regional office lunches to speak to your colleagues and take time to talk
  • Pre-recorded Yoga session with Impact45 to follow in your own time
  • Photography competitions - take photos of something that helps you maintain positive mental health, a healthy dish you have prepared and something that makes you smile
  • Say thank you!  Give thanks and recognition to your colleagues & team members

All the Partners at SHW want to thank their employees for all their hard work over the past year and continued contribution.  Russell Markham, Managing Partner said "Our SHW Health & Wellbeing Week is a great reminder for everyone to ensure they take care of their own physical and mental health, not only this week but to use some of the tips and activities on a daily basis".
