The current global situation with regards to the COVID-19 outbreak leaves many businesses and property owners facing uncertainty and concern. SHW are here to offer professional advice to landlords and tenants regarding their commercial leasing arrangements to help navigate a way through these critical times and find solutions that work for all involved



With many tenant businesses needing to cut costs to survive, their property costs become a focus of their attention. Whilst the Government is helping with almost daily announcements on help with business rates, many tenants are also looking to their landlords for help at this difficult time.

 

Landlords are in the main willing to work with their tenants in order to make sure that they continue to survive and if they can offer financial assistance now to safeguard a tenanted property in 3 or 6 months time then they may be open to a sensible dialogue on these rents and leases.

 

SHW would be pleased to work with landlords to discuss how such financial assistance could benefit both parties in the medium to long term or to advise tenants on helping them reduce their property costs by way of discussions on their rent, reducing their business rates liability or disposing of unwanted premises, until the worst of the effects of COVID-19 are behind us.
