SHW Planning wins 24 residential unit consent - Chatham

Planning

Planning permission has been granted for 18 flats and six houses on the site of a former school in Chatham, Kent. SHW Planning secured the consent on behalf of Woodcroft Developments Ltd. Designed by architects Mohsin Cooper, the 0.3 hectare redevelopment of the former Redvers Centre was found to be complementary to surrounding residential areas and will replace premises and a large surface car park which was deemed unfit for purpose some time ago.

Nathan Chilvers, Project Director for Mohsin Cooper said: "SHW's involvement with the Redvers project has been fundamental to the scheme's success at planning. Alex's knowledge of local planning policy alongside his strategic approach to the application process has assisted the project team in negotiating a variety of challenges, and enabled the local area to benefit from the redevelopment of the site."

SHW's Director of Planning Alex Bateman said: "This is a site which has been vacant and ripe for development in excess of five years. This new scheme will revitalise the site and result in a variety of positive outcomes in terms of local employment and most importantly much needed mixed housing, raising the overall quality of the area."
