Lesley's 35-year SHW journey
SHW News
1984 was the year Apple released the first Mackintosh computer, the inaugural flight of the Space Shuttle and the privatisation of British Telecom. The UK average house price was £37,182. This was also the same year Lesley Gale (pictured left) joined SHW (then Harold Williams, Bennett & Partners & Stiles Horton Ledger) at Park Lane, Croydon.

In the last 35 years Lesley has seen many changes within the profession and huge technological advancements which have shaped the way we live and work.
Lesley joined as a trainee graduate, became a Chartered Surveyor within two years and made one of the firm's youngest Associates in 1989, and was subsequently inducted as a RICS Fellow in 1998.
She has co-ordinated Lease Advisory for a number of high-profile buildings and clients, including AMP House (Schroders), No 1 Croydon (Hermes) and is our main Professional Division specialist for Subway®.
Head of SHW Professional Jon Dickman said: "It has been a pleasure to work with Lesley for nearly 15 years since I have been based in Croydon. She is a great example of a true professional in her approach to work but also manages to successfully balance her career with a busy family life and is a great example of the firm's early adoption of flexible working."
Lesley said: "I have gained so much valuable experience and made great friends along the way. The flexible working has allowed me to pursue such an interesting and varied career alongside bringing up a family."
