SHW - Industrial Refurb - Project Completed!

SHW are pleased to announce the successful completion of a recent industrial unit refurbishment project for StorageMart at 137 Wellington Road, Portslade where SHW’s Building Consultancy Department were involved from acquisition to handover.



Responsibilities included:


Pre-acquisition Survey:

 

  • Providing technical due diligence to support the investment decision.

 

Planning Consent:

 

  • Securing approval for the necessary upgrades and improvements.

 

Project Management:

 

  • Overseeing the works from start to finish, ensuring quality, budget, and timelines were maintained.

Contract Administration:

 

  • Managing contractual obligations and ensuring smooth delivery for the client.

 

Cost Consultancy:

 

  • Providing budget advice, cost planning, and financial oversight throughout.

Sustainability:

 

  • Integrating energy-efficient upgrades and low-impact materials to achieve BREEAM "Very Good".

 

 

This project converted a 28,000 sq ft former factory into a modern self-storage facility, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and the client to meet programme, budget, and quality standards while managing risks and on-site challenges.
