EASTBOURNE INDUSTRIAL PARK FULLY LET AT A NEW RENTAL HIGH

The 52,000 sq ft Connect 27 business park at Polegate, near Eastbourne, has been fully let at £12.50/ sq ft. SHW have set a new rental high 50% above the area’s previous average rent of £8.50/sq ft.



The 22-unit scheme’s biggest tenants include vehicle repair business Apollo Motor Group, which took 12,000 sq ft of space across five units; broadband network provider Lightning Fibre, which let 9,000 sq ft across four units; and Müller Yoghurt, which took 10,000 sq ft, having relocated from elsewhere in Eastbourne.

The three tenants join Howdens, Metrix and five local firms.

Max Perkins of SHW, joint letting agent on the scheme with Hunt Commercial, said: “Connect 27 has succeeded in establishing a new record industrial rent in the area against a background of very strong, pent-up demand for good business space and extremely limited supply.

“While a couple of large new schemes, such as Renew 22, are in the pipeline, they are nearly 12 months away from completion. Connect 27 has been the only sizeable scheme available to satisfy immediate requirements.”
