Significant occupier renews 37,000 sq ft office lease - Worthing

Offices

The Environment Agency have agreed a new lease on Guildbourne House, Worthing - the organisation's Solent and South Downs Area Office. This is good news for the town as it secures one of the largest employers within Worthing and comes shortly after the news that HMRC will also be retaining 900 of its staff to Worthing to occupy the new 90,000 sq ft office building at Teville Gate House.

SHW advised the landlord of Guildbourne House and represented them in negotiations for the 37,000 sq ft town centre block.

According to new Q2 data - shortly to be released in our Focus documents, prime office rents in Worthing are still marginally rising and availability has fallen due to the demolition of old stock. To obtain a copy of these reports please email Head of Agency Tim Hardwicke - thardwicke@shw.co.uk.

SHW Partner Richard Bull said: "Although it took nearly two years of negotiations I am delighted that we have managed to secure the tenant for the landlord and also retain this valuable employer for the town. With this news and that of HMRC locating to the town in the near future it is clear that Worthing is becoming an attractive location for the public sector due to its excellent transport links and affordable office space."
