SHW shares with FareShare Surrey & Sussex

CSR, SHW News

SHW’s Serena Taylor and Alex Gale met with FareShare this week to celebrate a successful year of fundraising.

Presenting the charity team with a cheque for £5,300, following a year of fundraising activities, Serena was delighted to hear and see how these funds help with the fantastic work carried out by FareShare’s team of volunteers.

Serena said: “We have had a small taste of what it takes to support the great work this charity carries out across the country. Teams across our South East offices did their bit to help out, in person, across the year, however that’s nothing compared with the continued dedication the FareShare Sussex & Surrey volunteers show every day.”

Established in 2002, FareShare Sussex & Surrey is the region’s leading food distribution charity, set up with the aim to fight hunger in the community by tackling food waste.

The food FareShare Sussex & Surrey redistributes is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, foodbanks and community cafes. Every week they provide enough food to create almost tens of thousands meals for vulnerable people.

Serena adds: “We were really pleased, also, to confirm that FareShare Sussex & Surrey has been chosen by the SHW team as our Charity Partner for 2026. Money raised from our various team sporting days coming up this year will again be tallied - and matched by SHW Partners - to provide further funds for FareShare Sussex & Surrey, and we will, again, be helping out in person across the year.”

Steven Brett, Corporate Partnerships and Events Coordinator at FareShare Sussex & Surrey, said: “We want to say a big thank you to SHW Property for their ongoing support. In the past year, the funds donated have provided over 21,200 meals to our charities and community groups across Sussex & Surrey. We look forward to continuing to work with the team this year.”
