SHW CHAMPIONS AGILE WORKING IN BRIGHTON OFFICE MOVE

Business Space

SHW is moving to Lees House in Brighton as part of a company-wide strategy to adopt agile working in its offices.

The move from SHW's existing Brighton base in Jubilee Street will allow its 60 staff to work in one self-contained suite, rather than two split suites as it does currently.

It also enables the firm to instigate a paperless office and flexible working, measures successfully trialled in its new Crawley office last year.

SHW's Brighton operation has grown significantly in the last five years, adding new services such as planning and residential management. Nevertheless, agile working has helped the firm to reduce its office footprint at Lees House, where it will occupy the fourth floor.

The decision to relocate to Dyke Road in Brighton follows a strategic review of all eight SHW offices across the South East.

"We did what we advise our clients to do, which is examine how we use our own office space and ensure it reflects modern working practices."

"We wanted to design an office that would equally benefit our staff and clients, selecting a building that is easily accessible and creating an attractive environment where staff want to work and which clients want to visit."

The redesigned office will feature drop-in desks and banquettes, a new kitchen and break-out area and new conference room, enabling both staff and clients to use the space as a base in Brighton.

'"Brighton is an exciting and vibrant city, the shape of which SHW has done much to mould over the last 50 years; it's our intention to make a similar impact in the next 50."
