SHW Regional Volunteer Days

SHW News

As part of SHW's Corporate Social Responsibility programme, we have organised a series of opportunities for each office to participate in a day's work for a charity of their choosing.

In the case of SHW London, our team swapped their office garb for work gear and wellies and headed for Chiswick Eyot, an islet on the Thames in order to carry out conservation work in association with the charity Thames 21.

Other SHW offices are currently formulating plans on how they can make a difference in their communities. Furthermore, we are looking to set up new Partnership charity initiative to compliment the two annual nominated good causes for which the firm have raised money for several years.

Partner James Hadden, who co-ordinated the Thames visit said: "It was fantastic to get the office into the great outdoors for a day and do something for our city, its landscape and wildlife. At the same time, we had a great day, learned new skills and bonded more, as a team."

"SHW were a willing and productive group of volunteers who really helped us to move this project along to protect and enhance the habitat on the Eyot. They were also a lot of fun!"  Vic Richardson, Thames21

This article will be part of the forthcoming Issue #4 of SHOWCASE to be published in November.
